... can't get back into my apt for at least 2 months while they fix the damage. The structure is not safe even though a handful of apts show no damage. I knew it, though I am nothing resembling an engineer. I mean, duh... the bit of the frame in the center of the building is now blackened (cajun style) & thin.
I also found out from the landlord last night that the apt right across from me lost their appliances because they MELTED. I found out a lot of things that make the decision to move out of there completely so right. Truth is, though.. even before all the new (mostly bad) news... I didn't want to go back into that place.
The landlord is letting me out of the lease and I am apt hunting this weekend.
Since I work so far away from where I had lived, I am taking this opportunity to move into the area I work in. The commute TO work was just over an hour, but coming home at night was 2 hours +.
I shall remedy that most annoying problem!
